We moved into our house in the summer of 2020. Every week a different roofing company knocked on the door wanting to replace the roof. They were all pushy and told me to ask my husband's permission. Every interaction left me annoyed and disgusted that I stopped answering the door. All I could do was hope that the roof was fine.One day Matthew was walking up to the house as I was leaving to take the dogs for a walk. There was no way I could avoid it and I braced for another icky interaction. From that first moment, Matthew was significantly different from the other roofers in the best possible way. He was informative and kind. He thoroughly explained why we had so many roofers knocking on the door and why having discontinued shingles could be a disaster waiting to happen.We had just had another severe storm and when he took a closer look at the roof, he identified several places where the shingles had failed. Matthew gave me all the information and strongly suggested I contact our home insurance. By the end of the day, the insurance company had fully agreed with Matthew's diagnosis and they scheduled the replacement.Replacing the roof was so easy and painless. Matthew was here explaining every step of the process. The crew was amazing. Their pride in their work was evident from the moment they stepped on site and they thoroughly cleaned up after everything was finished. They also get extra bonus points in my book for having several women on the crew.If you need any work on your roof, I wholeheartedly recommend AC Matthews!

When we moved to Towson from out of State, I did not know who to call for a roof inspection. I read the reviews on AC Matthews and selected them. I am glad I did! Matt came out and did a thorough inspection, and while I expected him to recommend a new roof, he actually gave an very honest recommendation to wait another few years. Matt even went ahead and replaced a few loose shingles for me while he was inspecting my roof. I was committed to Matt based on his friendly demeanor, honest assessment and willingness to just be helpful.Three months later, during an unexpected Summer storm, a tree limb crashed through my roof. I called Matt, and he came out right away, made a temporary repair and helped me pull together all of the needed paperwork to submit an insurance claim. AC Matthews replaced my roof and they did it quickly, with a focus on quality and detail. They showed full respect for my property - not a single nail or roof scrap was left behind. (And that is not my experience with other roofing companies). I highly recommend AC Matthews. Besides their top quality work, their communication is excellent. I find one of the most frustrating things when dealing with contractors is the lack of communication. This is NOT the case with AC Matthews.They show up when they say they will, they communicate regularly, and they never left me ‘wondering.’ I highly recommend AC Matthews.

This contractor was a breath of fresh air. Was very professional, on time, honest and trustworthy. They did what they said they were going to do. They dealt with the insurance company and took care of most of the project. They were super quick and efficient. Excellent work, great product, and super nice crew and crew chief, Martha. Matthew’s crew removed our over 50 year old cedar shake roof turned to moss roof and replaced it with the EcoStar synthetic blended cedar shakes. It is the perfect replacement for our traditional home!We absolutely love it and appreciate so much the reasonable price. The gutters and downspouts replacement was scheduled at our convenience to allow us time to replace and paint the facia boards. Check out the pictures of an awesome job. Thank you so very much!

We had our roof replaced October 2021 by another company. We started to notice signs of water intrusion in our main bedroom. The original roofer came to our home two times to make repairs and a third to tell us they that the repairs needed we not related to the work they had performed and they would write an estimate for repairs of our flat roof over the garage that isn’t connected to our main bedroom (we never even received that estimate). We reached out to Matt for help. He showed up ASAP and inspected the work that was performed and found several deficiencies which he documented by photo and performed a water test to prove that the water was coming from the improperly installed flashing. He also pointed out that there was no ice and water barrier installed and there should have been as the pitch is very shallow. I took all of this information back to the original roofer and they were forced to remove the roof over the shallow pitch and install the barrier and replace the flashing as well as repair the interior. The damage was so severe that a wall in our bedroom and large portion of ceiling were removed and remediated. This ended up saving me thousands of dollars and much less time breathing in the black mold that was found. I can’t thank Matt and his team enough for their knowledge, professionalism and kindness. I will be using them for any roofing needs moving forward and will be recommending them to friends and family!

I called AC Matthews Roofing & Exteriors on Sunday, May 21,2023. I expected to get a voicemail or an answering service. Instead, Matthew answered. He listened patiently while I explained the issue I was having. I sent him photos of my problem and he scheduled to come out 2 days later, Tuesday, May 23. Matthew text with an ETA. He arrived promptly. He went straight to diagnosing the issues. He actually got on a ladder & went up on my roof, none of the others had done that. He took several photos, pointing out 2 issues that I was not aware of & offered suggestions to remedy them. He assured me they would be available if need be. The customer service was outstanding. Once I get the main issue resolved, I will be calling him for my roof work. Thank you so much, Matthew!

AC Matthews Roofing & Exteriors has solved a years long problem with our commercial retil location. We have suffered continual roof leaks and blown off shingles due to extreme wind. Matthews handled all of the negotiations and paper work with our insurance company and converted us to a metal roof. It's beautiful and several extreme wind and hail storms have already tested the new roof which passed with flying colors. Matthews are friendly, professional, reasonable, and experts. They were responsive/quick to reply when we submitted an RFQ late one night, provided a couple options with detailed quotes to repair my roof allowing me to make an educated choice on the type of shingle, and ALWAYS got back to us within the timeframe they told us.On the day of the repair, the crew was earlier than expected, and had the job done exactly as quickly as they told us. I called Matthew after a big storm that took out part of our fence. I was concerned about the state of our roof. He made an appointment just a couple days later, showed up promptly and immediately set me at ease. He inspected the roof and determined we had both wind and hail damage, and encouraged me to add it to my homeowners insurance claim. The insurance adjuster came out and Matthew was right there with him, showing him everything he had discovered, and the insurance adjuster fully agreed with him. Matthew explained what would happen at every step along the way and went out of his way to ensure we had time and resources to make a good decision on the type and color of shingle we wanted. His crew was on time and worked quickly and very professionally to have the roof done in no time, and what a difference!! The roof is beautiful, has enhanced our home’s curb appeal and was brought fully up to new codes that didn’t exist when the roof was originally put on. In addition, Matthew identified repairs needed on a crushed downspout and on our shed and got those taken care of, as well as new gutter guards installed to help prevent water damage at the edges of the roof. We got all of this and only paid our homeowner’s deductible. Truly amazing. The professionalism, workmanship, and speed with which the whole process was handled exceeded all expectations. I would recommend AC Matthews to anyone needing any type of roofing or building project done. Exceptional. 10/10
